Why block the UDP traffic if a DDoS happens ?
When your server has an inbound DDoS, in addition to the anti-DDoS protection we add a firewall rule that blocks all the UDP traffic.
This blocks several services like Teamspeak, DNS and some FPS-type games (CS:GO,...).
However, your web server, minecraft server, FTP, SSH.. still work, thanks to the attack being filtered quickly.
UDP is an Internet protocol that allows « raw » traffic, without checking it. When it is blocked, an extra protection layer is added to your VPS.
